10 Secrets to Unhappiness & Happiness

UNHAPPINESS

  1. People or situations do not cause you to be unhappy.
  2. Unhappiness is the feeling that results from thinking and believing that something is making you unhappy.
  3. Your thinking is what makes you believe that something can cause you to be unhappy.
  4. Unhappiness is the feeling that things should be different than the way they are.
  5. Thinking causes unhappiness by your reaction to what you believe has the power to make you unhappy.
  6. Thinking that anything can cause you to be unhappy makes you experience fear.
  7. The fear created by your thinking causes you to continue to think unhappily.

  2. Happiness is the practice and habit of not letting anything become more important to you than your happiness.
  3. Happiness is realizing your power and not living with powerlessness, which is unhappiness disguised as fear.
  4. By being happy you face your fear and experience your true power.
  5. Happiness is freedom from fear by letting go of the past, the termination of worrying about the future and as a result, embracing and enjoying the present.
  6. Being happy is accepting things the way they are, facing uncertainty without fear and enjoying the present.
  7. You can be happy in a bad situation, or in a situation that you do not agree with. When you choose to be unhappy, it does not change the situation for the better, while it can easily make the situation worse.
  8. Being happy does not mean that you agree with a bad situation. It means that you are using happiness to maintain your power over the situation by maintaining peace of mind, with a higher level of awareness, to effectively deal with the problem and thereby exercise the most effective choice available to you in the moment.
  9. Being happy, when people have problems, does not mean you don't care about the people or their problems, it means you really care about making the situation better, while making things better for the people involved as well.
  10. Love can turn to hurt and then to hate if it is not returned. When you want happiness for another, you do it because you want them to be happy. And you do it unconditionally because you don't insist that they must give you happiness back. Happiness is all you need.
